BIOGRAPHY

Aldo Bertolini (1951) lives and works in Rome, Italy. Selftaught, learned attending older artists ateliers.

His latest works are mainly of enamel on copper.

  

The topografical margin is the boundary which outlines and divides, which forms territory, which establishes limits: in this way otherness and identity constitute and identify themselves.

I paint maps, trace lines which break, which divide and multiply themselves in interrupted pathways... I choose towns because it comes into being as a meeting point of the ethical and mutual knowledge  principle: where the city exists, is his language, his choice, where he decides how to be in life and thus in his project.

In the city the possibility of being, or no longer being, unfolds and withers...
